What is Biometrics ?
Biometrics is the science and technology of measuring and analysing biological data. In information technology, biometrics refers to technologies that measure and analyse human body characteristics, such as DNA, fingerprints, eye retinas and irises, voice patterns, facial
patterns and hand measurements, for authentication purposes.
Authentication by biometric verification is becoming increasingly common in corporate and public security systems, consumer electronics and point of sale (POS) applications. In addition to security, the driving force behind biometric verification has been convenience.
The IDENCOM Biometric finger scanner, consist of a reader and scanning Software, this converts the scanned information into digital form and compares matching points.

Features
- High Level Security - Passing of keys, cards or PIN-codes on to unauthorized personnel or misuse in case of fraud are therefore entirely excluded. Each fingerprint is unique and distinctive.
- User Presence – ensures user is present at time & point of recognition
- The finger itself is not exposed, but dragged over a resilient sensor. This assures that no fingerprint remains behind and eliminates the risk of eventual misuse through replication.
- Data protection: fingerprint scans are not stored in memory. Only the user-specific point tags are saved, which are however not sufficient to reconstruct the full fingerprints in case of data theft. No visual storage exists of the fingerprint, it is encrypted in binary code.
- Easy installation – simple and straightforward to install with no disruption to service.
- Smooth management – easy for staff to implement, manage & monitor.
- Patented (EU-Patent) biometric access system based on fingerprint recognition
